Few Northwest Native artists have been as influential as Charles Edenshaw. He has inspired generations of Native artists; such as Bill Reid, who said that he was profoundly influenced by his work. His body of work is impressive but his jewelry is notable for being far ahead of his time. It would be many years until other reached his level of accomplishment.

He is one of the few Northwest Native artists whose work has been well documented; while there are many great historic coastal artists only a handful have had their work identified and catalogued; to the great loss of those of us who practice or appreciate this type of art. His unique vision, unparalleled craftsmanship and attention to detail have made him the most respected Pacific Northwest coast Native artists.
